Managing consultant and expert in corporate and operational risk management in financial services. He previously led risk consulting activities in Marsh Europe, AEA Technology and City Practitioners. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Council of the Institute of Operational Risk.
He has just completed a year as Interim Director and CF28, Operational Risk at Santander UK. Other assignments, which has included ICAAP work for a Regulator/Supervisor, have been in:
directing operational risk management including reporting to Directors and Risk Committee
upgrading risk management frameworks: information, organisation, and processes
assessment and control of strategic and operational risks
preparing Basle 2 Capital Adequacy assessments and the Pillar 2 ICAAP Report
enhancing major projects, M&A, outsourcing through risk management
training directors, managers and staff in risk management
Edward’s specialisms include upgrading governance and identifying and resolving weaknesses in risk management and risk reporting. This is based on appropriate Best Practice expertise and experience, familiarity with Directors’ interests, and interpersonal skills at all levels.
Edward has worked in the UK, Russia, Europe and elsewhere. His early career was in the energy industry, working for BP internationally and later as strategic and risk consultant. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Operational Risk. Other affiliations are Institute of Risk Management (Honorary Life Member), Institute of Management Consultants, and the Institute of Directors.
